Is she preparing her lesson to teach or reviewing her notes to learn ? |
Teaching and learning are vital processes in survival as
they comprise the very foundations of growth. Both methods are necessary in
achieving development by seeking to actualize significant changes in behaviors.
Teaching can be defined as the act of giving lessons on a subject to a class
or pupils. It aims at showing the student how to do something. Teaching can
occur both formally and informally. Learning can be defined as knowledge gained
through study. This does not necessarily denote the acquisition
of information, but can also be skills, behaviors, values as
well. Human beings engage in the process of learning from birth till death. (www.differencebetween.net )
As mostly
agreed that teaching takes both talent
and skills to be effective , we can never estimate the love and passion we out
into teaching . The same is applicable on learning . As said if sending your
son to Macdonald would make him a burger , sending him to school would make him
genius if he does not want so . But as it has been prover that learners can get
smart if they want to , it means that learners should be willing to learn .
Yet teaching
can be an excellent way of learning as well . To be an effective teacher , one
should be well prepared with the required material and always backed up with additional
information just like an armored soldier going to a battle field . With a major
difference that students are not enemies but they are big responsibility and
teachers are the one who are in charge and responsible for every single info
shared . Thus while preparing , teachers would be learning a lot. Even while explaining
they would be learning . The way students perceive the lessons and share their
ideas and knowledge are as well an important source of learning .
So the
more we work the more influence we have , the more we learn . It is a cycle .It is a worthy and fun one .
